Bluefield College has partnered with Vivature, a one-stop-shop for sports medicine management, to enhance its ability to provide the highest possible care to its student-athletes.

Well known for its focus on campus health, Vivature provides state-of-the-art technology to assist college athletic training teams in tracking student-athlete injuries. A $20 million enterprise-level Oracle database called NExTT 360, the technology not only records injuries, but also monitors treatments conducted on student-athletes and oversees their activities in nutrition, counseling, academic advising, and strength and conditioning.

“Having a tool like NExTT 360 allows college athletic programs to protect themselves from liability,” said Vivature’s Lance Wilson, executive vice president, “and to adhere with all laws and regulations without any change to their current processes, or adding headcount or new expenses.”

Recently named a top 25 emerging sports technology firm, Vivature also helps college athletic departments remain in compliance with national guidelines on student healthcare. With more than 400 collegiate partners, the company also helps athletic departments with insurance billing, oftentimes saving students and schools money that can be reinvested back into their training rooms.

“Bluefield College is proud to be joining other Mid-South Conference schools in partnering with Vivature,” said Bluefield’s Ruth Blankenship, vice president for advancement, administration and finance. “This partnership allows us to provide enhanced sports medicine services and experiences for our student-athletes that otherwise could not be possible without Vivature. We are excited to begin this journey and look forward to a long and positive relationship.”

A private, Christian, liberal arts college in Bluefield, Virginia, Bluefield College fields 16 intercollegiate athletic teams, including baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, tennis, volleyball and wrestling for men, and basketball, cheerleading, cross country, softball, soccer, tennis and volleyball for women. The college is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is a full member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) and an associate member (football only) of the Mid-South Conference (MSC). The school is also affiliated with the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), competing in the Mid-East Region.

“We’re proud to add Bluefield College to the Vivature family,” said Muzzy Bass, chief executive officer of Vivature, based in Dallas, Texas. “From their athletic trainers, to coaches, to student-athletes, it is now our job to provide a platform that helps everyone in their training room follow current compliance and regulations, as well as provide an ongoing revenue stream that can be invested into Bluefield’s Athletics Department.”
