Omar Reed Named to NAIA All- American Team

Bluefield, VA-- Omar Reed, a senior from Tazewell, Virginia, was named on the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Third Team All- American List.


Reed is the only member of the AAC named to the list. Reed who was also the AAC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.


Reed who led the AAC in rebounds with 345, was listed in five categories representing the NAIA Division II basketball program. Reed ranked 2nd in defensive rebounds per game (7.793), 3rd in total rebounds per game (11.0), 6th in Total Total Rebounds (319), 18th in Offensive rebounds per game (18), and 36th in field goal percentage (0.532).


Reed a native of Tazewell, VA has grown in the Bluefield College Atmosphere both on the court and off. Reed states that "BC is a small college that is evolving every day, and has allowed me to obtain an education, expand my network, and my people skills. Reed was one of the go to players for the Rams this season. Both Coach Morgan and Coach Jennings stressed to Reed this season the importance of smart decision making on the court.


Reed attributes many of the successes he has had his senior season to both Coach Morgan and Coach Jennings.
