Men's Basketball releases 2011-2012 schedule By Sports Information Department BC | October 14, 2011 | RSS Bluefield College Athletics Sports Information Department Bluefield, Virginia Video Interview with Coach Morgan Bluefield, Va.- With just three weeks from the men's basketball season opener, the Rams release its 2011-2012 season and roster. The men's basketball team returns several of its key players including C Byron Carpenter and G Borgia M'Bala. The Rams look for several new players to add to its upcoming season including transfer F Shane Williams (Kingston, Jamaica), G Kearsten Marion (Houston, Texas) and G Andrew Wilson (Cucamonga, CA). Last year, the Rams were 11-18 overall while going 6-8 in the AAC. Rams were led in scoring and rebounding by Carpenter with 16.4 ppg and 7.7 apg. The upcoming season will be a huge test for the Rams as it begins with several huge non-conference games and exhibitions. Not only will Bluefield have to be set for a tough conference season again, but they will also need to prepare for a load of away games against big opponents. On the road, BC will have to play Division 1 side, Charleston Southern, as well as the nation's #1 and #2 teams in the NAIA, Mountain State(Wv.) and Pikeville (Ky.). They will also slide Carson-Newman (NCAA Div. 2) into this year's schedule. At home, the Rams will host another tough Division II side, University of Charleston, in Bluefield. A few new teams come through the Rams system this season including Francis Marian (SC.) and new AAC-member, Point University (Ga.). The men's team will open their 11-12' campaign in Bluefield when they host Mid-South conference opponent, St. Catharine, on November 1st at 7:30pm. The Rams will move with pace through the month of November with twelve games in the first month of play.
