Bluefield College’s Tequila McNeal and Ashley White have each earned National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-America honors, as announced by the organization following the Women’s Division I National Championship. McNeal was named to the first team and White to the second.
The first, second and honorable mention All-American teams are comprised of 10 student-athletes apiece, while the National Player of the Year – Simone Holmes of California Baptist University – also joins first team honorees to total 31 total selections.
Bluefield was one of just four schools – joining Grace College, Malone College and Union University – to have two representatives. The Lady Rams were the only program to have both a first team and second team representative.
According to national stats last updated on March 5, McNeal ranked eighth in the NCCAA’s scoring ranks, at 17.7 points per game. White was close behind, ranking 11th at 16.6 points per game.
White also ranked fifth nationally in assists averaging 4.9 helpers per contest.
The guard tandem led the Lady Rams to 16 wins on the year, including eight wins in the Mid-South Conference – which was represented by six teams in the NAIA National Tournament.
It is McNeal’s second NCCAA All-American award, as she was named to the honorable mention team last season. It is White’s first NCCAA All-American recognition.
