Chattanooga, Tenn.- The Lady Rams earned their 21st victory of the season with a 64-47 win over Oakland City on Saturday afternoon at Tennessee Temple University.
Bluefield trailed in the second half by five points at one point, but crawled back into the contest with 14:00 to play in the game.
There was no turning back for the #1-seeded Lady Rams, as they earned a spot to represent the Mid-East region for the NCAAA National Tournament.
First-year head coach MJ Baker was announced the Mid-East Region Coach of the Year for her leadership of the Bluefield side.
According to the NCCAA, the Lady Rams have been awarded a #3-seed for the National Tournament, and will face #6-seed Mount Vernon Nazarene on Wednesday.
Interestingly enough, the two teams have actually played one another this season in a non-conference game with the Lady Rams pulling off the win in tight battle in Ohio, 67-66, back on Decemeber 10, 2011.
The Lady Rams are returning to the national tournament for the second time in three seasons.
More information will be available in the near future.
