Lady Rams Split Two Games in Tournament

The Lady Rams have become quite accustomed to traveling, having played nearly the entire month on the road.

Bluefield, Va—The Lady Rams have become quite accustomed to traveling, having played nearly the entire month on the road.

 

The Lady Rams (2-5) were in Franklin Springs, Georgia for the 27th Annual Emmanuel College Invitational Tournament. The Lady Rams played against the host school, Emmanuel College, in game one for the Lady Rams, on the 22nd losing 55-48.

 

Kia Gilliard scored 12 points for the Lady Rams shooting 5-11 and 1-3 in 3 pointers. Also scoring double digits for the Lady Rams was Antonia Cataldi, the sophomore from Warrenton, Virginia. Cataldi had 11 points in the loss for the Rams. She was 5-7 and 1-2 in 3 pointers with 8 rebounds for the Lady Rams.

 

In game two for the Lady Rams (2-6) they played Southern Wesleyan University out of South Carolina on Tuesday. The Rams beat Southern Wesleyan with a 82-68 score in the game.

 

Leading the scoring for the Lady Rams was De'Arra Darling. The junior from Powder Springs, Georgia had 16 points in the game. Darling was 5-6 and perfect in both 3 pointers (2-2) and free throws (4-4) also having 3 rebounds for the Lady Rams.

 

Doriane Davis, a junior from Milwaukee, Wisconsin also had a high scoring game with 13 points. Davis was 6-13, 1-2 in 3 pointers, with 8 rebounds in the victory.

 

The Lady Rams will continue being on the road until December 15, when they play against Mt. Vernon Nazarene at 5:00 pm in the dome. They will also play Pikeville College, Winston Salem State, High Point University (exhibition) and Wofford College (exhibition) before then to round out the first half of the basketball season.
