Bluefield, Virginia- The Lady Rams soccer team finished a successful Saturday afternoon at the East River Soccer Complex after hosting the 1st annual 7-a-side Spring Friendlies hosted by Bluefield College.
Bluefield opened their small-sided games with an opening game against NAIA-side, Southern Virginia. BC's goal came from Braley Freire when she beat two defenders to whip in a cross that was deflected in by an SVU defender. SVU answered back in the second half and the although both teams had many chances, the game ended 1-1.
The second match for Bluefield was against current AAC-opponent, Milligan College. The Lady Rams' Lyndsey Pelleterri opened up the scoring in the first three minutes before Milligan netted two to take a 2-1.
As the second half rolled around, Braley Freire scored to tally and tie the game. With just under ten seconds to play in regulation, Missy Hubert found the back of the net on a free kick to win the game.
The Lady Rams avenge Milligan after a fall-season loss to the Lady Buffaloes by defeating them in Bluefield 3-2. Bluefield will return to more Spring action on Saturday as they travel to Brevard, North Carolina to cap off their season.
