
Lady Rams Lose by Two Against Union

Bluefield, VA-- The Lady Rams lost against Union College 76-74 in the final minutes of their game Saturday.

Despite out scoring the Lady Bulldogs in the second half 40-30, which now brings the Lady Rams now 3-7 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference in wins and boasts an overall record of 8-16 heading into their final four games of the regular season. Leading the Lady Rams in scoring with 23 points was Takieya Rouse.
Rouse, who had a standout game against Milligan College this past week had a team leading three steals and six rebounds. She also was a perfect six in free throws and split a series of three- pointers for the Lady Rams. Rouse was 8-21 inside and had a crucial one block.
Kiara Honore' netted 12 points, she was 4-11 inside, 2-5 in three pointers, and made two free throws. Honore' had four rebounds, one assist, and added another steal for the Lady Rams.
Scoring nine points each during the Union game was Kia Gilliard and Jasmin Washington.
Leading Union College in scoring was Amber Taylor who netted 20 points and Laura Perkins who netted 15 points for the Lady Bulldogs.
The rest of the Lady Rams season hosts two conference games (Tennessee Wesleyan/Montreat) and then will travel for two games (Virginia Intermont/Bryan) in the next two weeks.
Wednesday's game against Tennessee Wesleyan is the Lady Rams annual "Shoot for a Cure" event where they support breast cancer research and the team encourages all their fans to dress in pink for the game. Tip-off for the Lady Rams game is 5:30 pm in the dome.
