Lady Rams End in Tie Versus Alderson Broaddus

The Bluefield College Lady Rams soccer team fought a hard battle between NCAA Division II School Alderson- Broaddus on Thursday which resulted in a tie after two overtime periods.

Katie Warren attempted two shots on goal to end the match in a 0-0 tie after 2 OTs.

Bluefield, VA—The Bluefield College Lady Rams soccer team fought a hard battle between NCAA Division II School Alderson- Broaddus on Thursday which resulted in a tie after two overtime periods.

 

The two schools saw a combined 21 shots on goal but neither team managed to score during the game.

 

Katie Warren attempted two shots on goal during the tie match.

 

Jackie Gonzalez recorded 15 saves during the 110 minutes as goalie for the Bluefield College Lady Rams, playing the entire game. Fellow goalie Debbie Kriebel, who normally sees time in front of the net played in a different capacity this game, and recorded one of BC's six shot on goal.

 

Katie Warren recorded two shots on goal, with Lauren Diggs, Kelby Dove, and Melissa Hubbert having one a piece during the game. Alderson- Broaddus saw nearly double the shots on goal but none of them managed to get past Gonzalez.

 

Brooke Logston and Chelsea Gilliam of Alderson Broaddus saw three shots on goal apiece followed by Megan Smith, Mackenzie Bourgeois, Magen Johnson each with two; Arianne Aucoin, Kasie Shoemaker, and Jessica Kerns saw one each for Alderson- Broaddus. Last year when the two schools met, Alderson- Broaddus dominated the game and came out with a 5-0 victory.

 

The Lady Rams (3-8-2) will play at home on Saturday, October 9, 2010 against conference rival Tennessee Wesleyan College at 1:00 pm. They will play on the road on October 12 versus Southern Virginia before returning home for the Homecoming match-up with Concord University at 10 am at East River Soccer Complex.
