The Lady Rams narrowly beat the UVA- Wise Cavaliers 76-71, on Saturday.

Bluefield, VA—The Lady Rams narrowly beat the UVA- Wise Cavaliers 76-71, on Saturday.

This marks the second time that the Lady Rams (2-6) have met the Cavaliers this season. They played them the second game of the season at the Bluefield College Invitational in which the Lady Cavaliers beat the Rams, 86-71.

The second meeting brought a different outcome for the Lady Rams. Kia Gilliard, a junior from Cross, South Carolina led the team in scoring with twelve points. She was 2-3 in free throws, 2-5 in three pointers, and 4-11 at the line having four steals for the Lady Rams.

Takieya Rouse also had a twelve point game for the Lady Rams. Rouse a junior from Woodbridge, Virginia was 5-8 at the line and 2-3 in free throws. Rouse also had seven rebounds for the Lady Rams. De'Arra Darling and Kiara Williams each had eleven points for the Rams.

Darling a junior from Powder Springs, Georgia was 3-4 on free throws, 4-9 at the line, and totaled the team high in assists with five. Williams, a senior from Springfield, Virginia was perfect in free throws with two, she was 4-8 at the line and 1-4 in three pointers, and she also had seven rebounds for the Lady Rams.

The Lady Rams will take part in the Emmanuel Classic on November 22 and 23 in Franklin Springs, Georgia playing Emmanuel College on the 22nd at 8 p.m. The Lady Rams will not have another home game until December 15 when they will host Mount Vernon Nazarene at 5:00 pm in the dome.
