Jamestown, North Carolina- The Lady Rams basketball program officially announces the signing of yet another quality junior college standout from Guilford Technical Community College in Jhaznyn Whitley on Wednesday.
Bluefield College signs its second player from the North Carolina junior college for the 2012-2013 season. Both Whitley and Wheeler bring quality minutes, production and experience at the college level and will make a seamless transition into the Bluefield basketball program.
Whitley, a Gastonia, North Carolina high school standout from Victory Christian, was an All-Conference award-winner in both her Junior and Senior seasons at Victory. She was also named North Carolina State Tournament MVP during her Junior season.
While at Guilford Tech for two seasons, she averaged nine points, five rebounds and three steals per a game in each category. Whitley, a guard by position, will bring a load of versatility, quickness and speed to the Lady Rams lineup next season.
Bluefield women's basketball will be entering the Mid-South Conference in the 2012-2013 season. This season the Mid-South Conference had four teams represented in the NAIA national tournament with one of the four programs reaching the Final Four.
