Bluefield, VA-- The Bluefield College JV Rams Basketball team continues to find their success on the hardwood, beating Pikeville College 97-55 in the dome.
A.J. Brown scored 17 points in the JV's win against Pikeville.
Lucas Shortridge scored 14 points in the win.
The JV team continues their winning ways by playing as a complete unit and emphasizing teamwork in their wins. Perhaps Coach Keith Jennings quote on the team summed it up the best.
"We are rolling now and don't plan on looking back."
Second year JV Head Coach Keith Jennings has watched his team consistently get better. They are wrapping up the remaining games of their season and they bring a lot of good news for the Rams basketball program in having continuing success into the future.
Every JV Ram that took the court during the Pikeville game on Thursday scored at least one point. Leading the team in scoring was Alvin Board who netted 18 points for the JV Rams.
Coming off of an outstanding game against Barber Scotia on Tuesday, A.J. Brown added another stellar performance adding 17 points. Other notable scorers that reached double digits in points were Lucas Shortridge (14), Jonathon Dula (13), and Brian Daniels (12).
"I was very pleased with our defensive effort and the way we shared the basketball- a total team effort," said Coach Jennings.
With just two JV games left in the season the team will play them both on the road. But the JV Rams are accustomed to that since they have played a total of seven games on the road versus just six games at home.
The JV Rams will travel to New River Community College on February 3 with a 7:00 pm start time in Pulaski, Virginia. They will also play their last game of the 2010-2011 season against King College in Bristol, Tennessee on February 7 with a 6:30 pm tip-off scheduled.
