JV Beats King in Overtime February 8, 2011 | RSS Bluefield, VA—The Bluefield College JV team won in a thrilling overtime game against King College on Monday evening beating the Tornadoes 110-100 in overtime. AJ Brown led the JV Rams in scoring with 27 points in the victory. The team that continues to prove that team work and playing as one unit pays off were led by A.J. Brown who led the JV Rams in scoring. Brown who netted 27 points for the JV Rams continually has improved all season long. Following Brown in the scoring department was Dmitry Zimin, who netted 25 points for the team. Zimin who also plays on the varsity Rams team has seen remarkable results since splitting his time between the two teams. Brian Daniels trailed behind Zimin just two points behind him scoring 23 points for the JV Rams. Daniels led the team defensively as well, making several crucial plays in the second half. Nearing the end of regulation the JV Rams were up by three points but the Tornadoes nailed a three- pointer just as time was running out to send the game into overtime. Zimin showed his leadership qualities by stepping up and leading the team to the crucial 10 point win in Bristol, Tennessee. The JV team will play their newly added final game of the season on February 18 at 6:00 pm in the dome against New River Community College. This will mark the third time that the JV Rams has played NRCC and has handedly beat them both previous times.
