Votaw who is recruiting his second class (2013) since taking over the BC program went onto say, "Ashlyn has an incredible faith in God and a warm spirit and will fit in well with the players we have returning in 2013."

"Ashlyn has prepared herself well by playing at an outstanding high school program at Watauga High School while being coached by Chris Hagaman.  I look forward to her contribution to our team," expressed Coach Votaw.  When asked why Vandyke committed to Bluefield College she stated that "I chose Bluefield College because the atmosphere was great and it was a Christian school and just the right size for me.  It really felt like home."
