Goodyear Leads Rams in Post- Season Honors

Bluefield, VA—The 2010 Appalachian Athletic Conference Awards (AAC) have been handed out, naming four different Ram Baseballplayers to post season honors.


The Rams (38-14) lost the AAC championship to Tennessee Wesleyan with a score of 20-3 on Wednesday.


Zac Goodyear, a freshman from Staunton, Virginia who is an infielder for the Rams was named as the AAC Freshman of the Year. Goodyear who has 133 at bats, with 21 runs, 49 hits, with 10 doubles and 2 home runs this season; Goodyear also has 28 RBI's so far.


David Gibson, a sophomore from Williamsburg, VA; was named on the All- Conference Team for the AAC. Gibson, who is 11-3 as a pitcher for the Rams, has 71 hits, 20 earned runs, and 71 strikeouts on the season.


Outfielder Devin Good was also named on the AAC All- Conference Team. Good, a senior from Baltimore, Maryland has 19 RBI's with 50 runs and 60 hits on the season. Good leads the Rams in triples with five.


Also named on the All- Conference list for the Rams is catcher K.J. Sobolewski. Sobolewski the senior from Roanoke, Virginia has played in all of the Rams 51 games this season. Sobolewski who has 38 RBI's, with 13 doubles is one of the leading hitters on the Rams squad.
