
Gilliard Dominates with Two Post- Season Honors

Bluefield, VA—The Lady Rams had one player named on the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) post- season honors for the 2011 season.

Kia Gilliard, a junior from Cross, South Carolina was named to both the All- Conference Third Team and to the All- Defensive Team for the AAC. Gilliard who was named to the Second Team and All- Conference team in the 2010 season is no stranger to winning and doing her best.
Gilliard who leads the team in scoring with 306 points this season, in steals with 64, and in assists with 55. Gilliard also was the leading scorer in many of the Lady Rams games this season. Other stats for Gilliard are 126-339 inside, 30-104 in the three pointers, and 24-45 in free throws.
The Lady Rams who lost in the semi- finals round of the AAC Tournament to eventual champs Tennessee Wesleyan on Friday, February 25, 69-48 did not receive a bid to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) still could receive a bid the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) tournament later this month. The Lady Rams attended the NCCAA tournament where they placed fifth in the tournament losing to North Greenville, but winning against Emmanuel College and King College.
