On Tuesday in Virginia Beach, Virginia, MF Aaron Georgiades signed a letter of intent to play collegiate soccer at Bluefield College under the leadership of Coach Dryer and Coach Neidig for the 2011 fall season.

Georgiades to play at BC in Fall 2011

Georgiades is a graduate of Bay Side High School in Virginia Beach, which plays in Triple-A Virginia High School soccer.

Aaron is a All Beach District 2nd team member in 2011 and also plays for the Old Dominion Soccer Club in the "seven-cities" area along the Virginia coast. ODSC competes against some of the top clubs in the state including Beach FC, Virginia Rush, Virginia Legacy, and many more.

He has also participates in the Lion’s Den Track Club, due to his enjoyment and passion for track & field and cross-country. Aaron also has an older sister who runs cross country at Bluefield College.

"Aaron is a player who will automatically boost the overall level of talent to our program," added head coach Pete Dryer. "His awareness, composure and smoothness with the ball will help our midfield tremendously in the future seasons ahead."

At 6'5", AG will bring not only composure to the midfield, but also ball-winning in the air through 50/50 balls, set pieces and corner kicks, not only on the offensive end but also while defending.

"We expect Aaron to do great things in our program. He will have to fight for playing time like every other player, but we see Aaron contributing in many ways on and off the field through his character and respect for the game and others," added Asst Coach Neidig.

Aaron is yet another player that BC has recruited out of the Virginia Beach and surrounding cities over the past three to four seasons. And the Men's program will return to the beach in just under six weeks to hold its pre-season camp and assist at a brazilian soccer camp in the area.
