Georgiades and Kitchen Lead BC at Rio Grande Invitational By Rudy Roediger | September 22, 2012 | RSS RIO GRANDE, Ohio – Bluefield College men's and women's cross country team competed in the 42nd Annual Rio Grande/Patty Forgey Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning. The men finished sixth out of seven teams led by Lochlan Kitchen. Lochlan Kitchen was the top finisher for the men who finished sixth out of the seven teams, as he placed 18th, clocking a time of 31:54. Jordan Owens finished 36th with a time of 34:33 followed by Steven Mahood (44), William Jeffords (46) and Jordan Giles (50) who all finished in the top-50 giving the Rams 155 points to edge out seventh place Salem International by two (157). Rio Grande University took the team championship with 24 points and an average time of 28:14.6 while the Rams finished with 35:53.2. Kara Georgiades was the top Ram's finisher on the women's side as she placed 15th, clocking a time of 24:40. Georgiades finished four minutes and eight seconds behind Rio Grande Universities Kayla Renner, who finished the meet in a time of 20:32 to win the race. Lydia Freeman was the next Ram finisher as she took 24th in a time of 25:59. Bluefield College returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 6 when they travel to Maryville, Tenn., to compete in the Maryville College Invitational with a 9:15 a.m. start.
