Edwards and Snow Sign to Play Baseball

Bluefield, VA—The Bluefield College Rams add two members to their roster for the 2012 baseball season in Zach Edwards and Tyler Snow.



Zach Edwards signs NLT with parents James and Debra Edwards and Assistant Coach Danny Flores this week. 

Zach Edwards signed a Letter of Intent to play baseball for the Bluefield College Rams. Edwards is currently attending Surry Community College in Surry, North Carolina, he is a former graduate of Carroll County High School in Virginia.


While playing in high school, Edwards hit a one hitter. Edwards was trained and coached by two former Major League Baseball players Duane Puryear from Hillsville, Virginia and Dave Christian from Salem, Virginia. Edwards who attributes his success on the baseball diamond to his parents James and Debra Edwards, who were present for his NLT signing, also present was Bluefield College Assistant Baseball Coach Danny Flores.


Also, signing a NLT of intent to play baseball was fellow Carroll County High School graduate Tyler Snow. Snow, a native of Fancy Gap, Virginia; was a member of the 2010 Dixie Boys team that won the 15-16 year olds that won a state title, and also represented Virginia in the Dixie World Series in Alabama where they played the state champions of Tennessee and North Carolina in the double- elimination game.


Snow who was introduced early on the position of catcher, was the captain of his ninth grade JV baseball team and then moved up to play in the District Championship game for the Cavaliers. Snow was coached under Carroll County Head Baseball Coach Joe Tompkins, Assistant Coach Kevin Dehaven, and Coach Darrin Matthews.


Snow is the son of Larry and Sharon Snow and has one brother and one sister, he is also the fiancé' of Amber Rose.
