The overall Player of the Week award is the first for Bluefield this season.

The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced today its weekly athletics honors, as Bluefield's Cheznee Daily, was tabbed with volleyball's top performer award. 

Daily, a Junior setter, from Mooresville, North Carolina was awarded the Player of the Week award for her stellar performance last week in Bluefield against mid-south conference member, UVA-Wise. 

Bluefield downed Wise in four sets behind great performances from Daily, Duarte and Randall on Senior Night. Daily had five kills, 44 assists and 18 digs in the setting role. 

Daily and company will look to continue its recent success when they take on Tennessee Wesleyan on Wednesday at 10 am, in Tennesee. The winner will have to stay on and play top-ranked, Union College, later in the evening at 6pm in the opening round of the conference tournament.
