ATHENS — Camisha Alexander made four of her five three-point shots and Sidney Lindsey scored 18 points as the Concord Lady Lions got their home season started on the right foot Monday evening, defeating Bluefield College 86-55 at the Carter Center.

Concord (1-1), which lost its first game 68-66 in overtime at Pitt-Johnstown Saturday, jumped to a quick 14-2 lead on its home hardwood. A 7-3 Bluefield run ended the first half but the Lady Lions left the floor with a 45-22 margin.

The home squad shot 51.6 percent from the floor, going 10-for-20 from three-point range, and got 42 points in the paint and 20 points off turnovers. The defense held Bluefield to 33.8 percent shooting from the field.

Alexander finished with 16 points. Jolysa Brown scored 12 and Andrea Bertrand had 10 points; both pulled down nine rebounds to lead Concord. Sarah Blevins chipped in 11 points. Kristin Kidd had six of Concord's 26 assists.
