Can't Miss Summer Alumni Reunions

Bluefield College will host three summer “Bluefield @ the Ballpark” gatherings for alumni and friends in Richmond, Roanoke, Bristol and Bluefield.

 

Charlottesville: Bluefield College alumni Bobby (left) and Joyce Gentry will host the 28th Annual Alumni Reunion for BC alumni and friends of Greater Charlottesville at the Gentry Farm.

 

Bluefield College alumni and friends are invited to a series of summer gatherings in Richmond, Roanoke, Bristol, Bluefield, Fredericksburg and Charlottesville, Virginia in June and July.

 

The first four of the summer will take place Thursday, June 26 at baseball stadiums across the Commonwealth. Titled “Bluefield @ the Ballpark,” the baseball gatherings will reach out to alumni and friends in Richmond, Roanoke, Bristol and Bluefield.

 

The Richmond “Bluefield @ the Ballpark” reunion will begin at 6:35 p.m. on June 26 during the Flying Squirrels game against the Bowie Baysox at The Diamond. Thanks to the generosity of Haley Buick GMC and BC alumnus David Bailey, Bluefield College alumni, family and friends are invited to gather in and around the Haley Rally Box.

 

Greater Roanoke alumni and friends are invited to “Bluefield @ the Ballpark” at Salem Memorial Stadium at 7:05 p.m. on June 26 when the Salem Red Sox take on theCarolina Mudcats. This event will be hosted by BC 2002 alumnus Brandon Caldwell.

 

The Bristol “Bluefield @ the Ballpark” event will take place at 7 p.m. on June 26 at DeVault Memorial Stadium as the Bristol Pirates take on the Johnson City Cardinals. Alumnus Scott Hammond from the class of 1993 will host the Bristol baseball gathering.

 

The final “Bluefield @ the Ballpark” gathering for Greater Bluefield alumni and friends will begin at 7:05 p.m. on June 26 at Bowen Field when the Bluefield Blue Jays battle the Pulaski Mariners. Alumnus Josh Cline from the class of 2009 willhost the Bluefield reunion.

 

“‘Bluefield @ the Ballpark’ is a fun new tradition for BC alumni and friends,” said Alumni Director Mark Hipes. “It provides alumni an opportunity to meet with each other and network, while enjoying a fun evening of baseball and BC spirit.”

 

The college will also host reunions for alumni and friends from Greater Fredericksburg and Greater Charlottesville. The Fredericksburg event will take place Saturday, June 28 from 6 p.m. to 9p.m. at the home of 1962 alumnus and trustee Rev. Jack Marcom and his wife,Phyllis (2108 Karen Terrance Fredericksburg, VA 22405). Alumna Sarah Reid from the class of 1968 will join in hosting the picnic gathering. Alumni and friends can drop by anytime during the three-hour reunion.

 

The final BC alumni event of the summer will take place at The Gentry Farm in Charlottesville (1814 Ashton Church Road, Charlottesville, VA 22911) at 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 12. The 28th annual gathering for BC alumni and friends at The Gentry Farm, the Charlottesville event will be hosted by alumni Bobby (’59) and Joyce Mullikin (’58) Gentry.
