Dale City, Virginia- The Bluefield College women’s volleyball team has signed another of the top high school prospects in the country in Amber Taylor-Inge, according to prepvolleyball.com which ranked her as one of the top freshman and sophomores in the country.
Taylor-Inge signed her letter of intent to play for Coach Votaw and the Lady Rams on May 9, 2012 at her high school.
Amber, a 5-foot-10 middle hitter from Dale City, Virginia, was chosen the MVP at the “Back to School Classic” in 2010 and Co MVP in 2008. Amber, daughter of Jeff and Julie Inge, was a member of ODACS State All tournament team from years 2008-10, She was named all area high school 1st team for Potomac News in 09-10. She was awarded most inspirational in 09, leadership in 10 as well as the Christian Character Award.
For her career, Amber had 1356 kills, 1020 digs and 301 aces to go with 102 assists.
"This is another incredible day in the life of Bluefield College Volleyball. To be able to add a recruit as with the experience and ability as Amber is an exciting thing for our program. We are excited that Amber is joining the Lady Rams volleyball program",” said Bluefield College coach Brian Votaw, who is entering his second season as the head coach at Bluefield.
"Amber is an outstanding middle hitter who excels at her position. She has been gifted with an incredible vertical leap and great blocking skills. I'm also extremely impressed by her serve and it could turn out to be quite a weapon at the next level also."
"Amber is a MVP type player and even more importantly is an incredible young Christian woman. She has prepared herself well by playing at an outstanding high school program at Evangel Christian while being coached by Tim Morrow. She also played for an excellent club for 4 years with the Clash Club program. I look forward to her contribution to our team and anticipate her making a huge impact in her freshman year," expressed Coach Votaw.
"I chose Bluefield College because when I visited the college I thought it was amazing. Everything was so pretty, the campus the people. I love the fact that everyone knows everybody and it is exactly the atmosphere I wanted to be in for the next four years. The staff and faculty and volleyball team that I had the chance to meet were so sweet and caring. Another important reason I chose to attend Bluefield College is the fact that it is a Baptist College. I knew that I needed to continue to be in a Christian environment more that I needed to be in a secular college environment. I believe that attending Bluefield College I will find friends that will also strengthen my walk with God."
