Bluefield College to host 2011 NCCAA Softball National Championship By Sports Information Department BC | May 9, 2011 | RSS Bluefield College Athletic Department Official Release Bluefield, Virgnia The Bluefield College Rams will host the 2011 NCCAA Softball National Championship this week in Botetourt County at the beautiful Botetourt County Sports Complex from May 12-14. The Rams will act as hosts for the next three years for the prestigous national event in association with the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) for Women's Softball. BC to host NCCAA Softball Teams from all across the country arrive this week in Virginia for competition over the next several days including top-ranked Central Baptist (52-4), Simpson (28-16), Cedarville (31-19), North Greenville (19-24), Covenant (22-12), Campbellsville (33-25), Judson University (32-16) and Geneva College (25-11). Teams come from all a variety of states as far as California and as close as Ohio. The path to the National Championship was not easy, as each team had to qualify in their respective regions in order to advance to Virginia to earn the right to be a part of the event. Botetourt County will be an unbelievable host of the event over the next three years. Tucked away and surrounded by picturesque mountains, the sports complex is high quality, and ran by a great professional crew. Bluefield College will supervise the management of all game-day operations, statistics, athletic training and for the first time in softball championship history- live video streaming of all 15 national games. Rams Athletics and Bluefield College recently made moves in the right direction from an inter-collegiate perspective. Not only hosting national championship events, but also the implementation of Varsity football, integration into the Mid-South Conference in 2012 and the hiring of top professional coaches to its athletic staff.
