Bluefield College Names Sinsabaugh Associate VP for Degree Completion Programs

Bluefield College degree completion professor Dr. Larry Sinsabaugh has been promoted to associate vice president for degree completion programs and director of the school's Richmond Degree Completion Center.

Dr. Sinsabaugh joined the BC faculty in 2006 as an adjunct instructor for degree completion programs (DCP). He was promoted to full-time associate professor of management and leadership and psychology in the fall of 2008.
    In addition to his duties in the classroom, Dr. Sinsabaugh has often developed curriculum for the college's degree completion program. In the spring of 2006, he was awarded the Alfred and Shirley Wampler Caudill Award as the outstanding faculty member in the management and leadership portion of the DCP.
    Outside of the classroom, Dr. Sinsabaugh is chief executive officer of Sinsabaugh Consulting Services, specializing in private sector rehabilitation and forensic practice. He has extensive rehabilitation counseling experience in both state and federal rehabilitation programs.
    Dr. Sinsabaugh is also the associate editor of the Journal of Forensic Vocational Analysis, and he contributed to book Principles and Practices of Case Management in Rehabilitation Counseling. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors for the American Board of Vocational experts, where his service has been acknowledged twice with the receipt of the President's Award.
    His experience also includes work as an internal consultant to senior management and a manager for management training at the former Heilig-Meyers Corporation. He has served as an area manager for Crawford and Company Health and Rehabilitation Services, and has worked for the Virginia Department of Veteran's Affairs, the Ohio Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, and the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services. His teaching experience away from Bluefield college includes positions with Central Michigan University and Virginia Commonwealth University.
    In addition to the Faculty of the Year Award from Bluefield College, Dr. Sinsabaugh is the recipient of Presidential Citations from the American Board of Vocational Experts, a Disability Friendly Business Recognition Seal from the Virginia Department of RehabilitativeServices, a Disability Employment Policy Education Citation from the United States Department of Labor, and a Counselor of the Year Award from the Virginia Rehabilitation Counseling Association.
    Dr. Sinsabaugh earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, and a master's degree and his Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He holds licenses to practice as a professional counselor in Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina; a certified professional counselor in Maryland; a licensed marriage and family therapist in Virginia; and a licensed vocational evaluator in Virginia.
    He will begin his duties as BC's associate vice president for degree completion programs and director of the school's Richmond Degree Completion Center on August 15.
