Bluefield College Defeats Barber Scotia in Opener

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Bryon Carpenter scored 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Bluefield College past visiting Barber Scotia 77-59 at the Dome Gymnasium Thursday.
The Rams held an 11-point lead at the half 33-24 and kept control throughout on their way to a season opening victory.
Demarcus Erving was the leading scorer for Barber Scotia with 21 points. Anthony Lopez finished with 11 points.
Borgia M'bala finished with 18 points for Bluefield College.
The difference in the game was the Rams held Barber Scotia to under 40 percent from the floor including 12.5 percent from three point range.
