Bluefield Blanks Berea, 3-0
Rams improve winning total to nine

BEREA, Ky. – Bluefield College continued its stellar season against Berea with a sweep on Thursday evening. The Rams took their weekend opener in straight sets, 25-18, 25-23, 25-17 and captured their ninth victory of the season.
Jasmine Morrow notched a double-double with 18 kills and 14 digs, while classmate Colby Combs added eight kills and 10 digs. Amber Taylor-Inge tacked on eight kills for a Rams attack that converted 29 percent (40-of-109) on the evening. Morrow the team’s leader in kills on the season used her 18-of-37 chances to pass 200 kills on the season.
Cheznee Daily had 28 assists just two shy of the 400-mark for 2012. Angie Highlander had two solo blocks -- two shy of her season high.
The Rams got off to a good start defeating the hosts 25-18 in the opening set before battling a tight second set 25-23. In the final set BC used a 25-17 advantage to secure its ninth sweep of the season.
Under Coach Brian Votaw the Rams have made a quick turnaround winning more games (9) through their first 15 than any team since 2008.
Bluefield returns to the floor on Friday evening at 5 p.m. when Campbellsville (Ky.) opens a two-day Mid-South Conference Crossover in Columbia, Ky.
