Big night from White not enough for Rams By Trey Wilson | January 11, 2013 | RSS COLUMBIA, Ky. – Ashley White scored a season-high 31 points on Thursday night, but it was not enough for the Rams as they fell on the road to Lindsey Wilson, 86-76. With the loss, the Rams (12-5, 4-3 Mid-South Conference) fell back into a three-way tie for fourth place in the conference with Georgetown and St. Catharine. White’s 31 points was the highest scoring total for either team. She also had eight rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. Teqa McNeal scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Monique Robson added 11 points before she fouled out in the late minutes. Maryah Mazyck scored 10 points and hauled in nine rebounds. McNeal and White played all forty minutes for the Rams. The Rams struggled from outside, shooting 3-12 on 3-point attempts. They shot 42 percent from the floor and outrebounded the Blue Raiders, 43-35. Bluefield took a 3-0 lead to start the game, but Lindsey Wilson (12-5, 4-4 MSC) took a 4-3 lead and did not trail again. The Blue Raiders took a 35-28 lead into the halftime break and fought off late rallies from the Rams. Lindsey Wilson was led by a season-high in scoring from Sarah Gillis, who finished with 28 points. Ashley Rainey scored 22. The Rams will travel to No. 10 Campbellsville (13-3, 6-1 MSC) on Saturday for their second of four consecutive road contests. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
