Wise, Va. -- Bluefield College downed UVa-Wise in three sets (25-18, 25-20, 20-13) on Tuesday night in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) action.
The Lady Rams, who also beat Virginia Intermont, are now 2-0 in league play, with both wins coming in straight sets on the road.
Takashi Franklin (Senior--Aiken, S.C.) led BC with 8 kills, while Alyssa Weddle (Junior--Carroll County, Va.) accumulated six kills and six digs.
Freshman Cheznee Daily (Mooresville, N.C.) compiled 22 assists and four kills for the Lady Rams and senior Felicia Marmo (Manahawkin, N.J.) had a team-high seven digs.
Mikaela Anders (7 kills, 10 digs) paced the Lady Cavaliers' attack. Wise dropped to 1-5, 0-2 AAC on the young season.
After playing its first seven matches away from home, Bluefield hosts rival Concord (WV) University on Thursday, September 10 at 7 p.m. at the Dome Gymnasium.
