The Bluefield College women's softball team is proud to announce the signing of its first player for the 2012-2013 season. Coach Walker has signed Ciera Conkle, of Douglassville, Penn.

Conkle will come to Bluefield with the ability to play both in the infield and outfield with great speed and athleticism. Last season, she started on Daniel Boone High School’s varsity softball team, where she played second base in all 22 games. She is best known for her speed and hitting.

She contributed to her team winning the Berks Division II championship with a league record of 11-1. Ciera is currently playing 2nd base for her high school squad. Ciera's quickness makes her a threat at not only the plate, but also her range in helping to cover the defense at second base.

Conkle will still have one Spring high school season left to finish in which she is currently competing in right now. She will then redirect her attention to the college level when she arrives in Bluefield in the fall for off-season workouts and 'fall-ball' with the Lady Rams.
