According to CUO, the site publishes rankings and reviews of the best Christian colleges and universities, information about Christian scholarships and financial aid, and many other resources for finding, getting into, and paying for a quality Christian education.

“At Christian Universities Online we are committed to helping students and families pursuing a distinctly Christian education make the best use of their finances and gifts,” said CUO’s Michael Templeton. “We are confident that (Bluefield College) will help them do both.”

For the Top 50 Most Beautiful Christian Colleges and Universities ranking, CUO rated all schools belonging to or eligible to belong to the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) on four major criteria: continuity of the campus, architectural style, signature buildings, and natural setting.

In ranking Bluefield College, CUO stated the following: “Located in Bluefield, Virginia, a town of about 5,500 citizens, Bluefield College sits nestled on a beautiful mountain campus. Established in 1922, Bluefield has a current undergraduate enrollment of 928. Set on 82 acres, the Baptist-affiliated college campus is rural and surrounded by a large wooded area.”
CUO also noted BC’s “stunning, classically designed red brick and white pillar buildings that are typical of many of the most beautiful southern colleges and universities.” The online Christian college resource also recognized Bluefield’s “well planned” campus layout that “fits well with its natural surroundings.”

“We feel honored to be ranked as one of the most beautiful campuses by Christian Universities Online,” said BC president Dr. David Olive. “Having this organization share its perspective is appreciated and hopefully helpful to students considering attending Bluefield.”

As part of the ranking, CUO expressed how various factors play into students choosing a college. Students, they said, are aware of and influenced by natural surroundings, layout and the beauty of a campus, which is why they chose to rank schools on such factors rather than on figures and facts typically used to assess schools.
