BC Online Programs Among Best in Virginia
Bluefield College has been recognized as one of the best online colleges in Virginia by OnlineColleges.net.

Using a complex methodology that compares academics, student experience, and online programs, OnlineColleges.net ranked Bluefield College 12th among nearly 100 accredited colleges evaluated in Virginia. In determining its rankings, OnlineColleges.net used a formula that assigns a percentile value to academic quality, online offerings, cost, and student aid support, and then took each school’s cumulative performance and ranked them accordingly.

“The end result is an accurate and organized list of the standout schools for 2016,” said OnlineColleges.net’s Rachel Phillips. “We carefully reviewed every college offering fully online degree programs in Virginia, and Bluefield College is one of the best choices for students. This is something to be proud of.”

According to OnlineColleges.net, online education is “growing at a rapid pace,” and students have “more choices with each semester that passes.”

“(Bluefield College has) put great effort into building a program that works for students, and it has not gone unnoticed.”

Bluefield College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In keeping with a liberal arts education, BC’s curriculum, including its online courses, emphasize a broad array of perspectives. Among the fully online offerings at Bluefield College are undergraduate degrees in management and leadership, e-business and entrepreneurship, human services, criminal justice, early childhood education, and nursing (RN-to-BSN); a master’s degree in education; and certificate programs in small business management.

Training students to achieve their career goals from anywhere, the BC virtual classroom is designed to be engaging, challenging and flexible to all students’ schedules. Structured into an eight-week-long format that allows students to take two courses at a time, classes are most commonly conveyed via discussion forums, video lectures, assigned readings and projects. Many of the programs can be taken in an accelerated format, intended for working individuals seeking to earn their degree quickly.

The state ranking from OnlineColleges.net is not the only recognition received recently for Bluefield’s online programs. In the past year alone, BC was named among the best online colleges in the nation by the Affordable Colleges Foundation, among the top 10 best online colleges in Virginia by BestSchools.com , and the number one online college in Virginia for supporting corrections by CorrectionalOfficer.org.
