Athletics host 2nd Annual Awards Banquet

While a few spring athletics are still in the crucial stages of their seasons, the Athletics Department hosted its end-of-the-season Athletic Awards Banquet on Wednesday.

Peter Dryer, Athletic Director, speaks to athletes

All Fall, Winter and Spring athletic programs, both athletes and coaches, gathered on campus together for an enjoyable evening of recognizing outstanding play on and off the athletic ground.

Each coach for its repective team came forward to speak about the past season of play and to recognize certain individuals for their play including MVP, Outstanding performances, Most Improved and the RAM EFFORT Award. The RAM EFFORT Award is something fairly new to the Rams Athletic Department and it is something the Department strives to instill not only in its athletes, but the programs as a whole.

EFFORT stands for "E" Energy, "F" Faith, "F" Focus, "O" Ownership, "R" Respect and "T" Teamwork

Fall Sports were highlighted by Mens and Womens Soccer, Volleyball and Cross Country. The Winter Sports included Men's and Women's Basketball and Cheerleading. Also, the Spring sports included Softball, Baseball and Men's and Women's Tennis.

In its second year, the Athletic Awards Banquet is becoming increasingly popular with the athletes. The program included some comic relief, video highlights and a post-banquet dinner. Over the next several years, the deparment will look to create an even more positive and entertaining event for its athletes by mimicking the ESPY's.

You need to link this article and picture to each sport's site. Maybe, take just that sport and the picture and names of award winners to that sport on their page site.
