Albarran Paces Rams to Fourth Straight over Ferrum By Rudy Roediger | September 8, 2012 | RSS BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -- In the fourth meeting in as many years, Bluefield College men’s soccer program earned its fourth straight victory over Ferrum on Saturday. The Rams used two second half goals to earn their third straight shutout over the Panthers, 2-0. "It was great to get a win coming off of our performance Thursday night," said Head Coach Peter Dryer. "Today we tested their keeper a bit more (than Thursday) and put a few away. Defensively, we got our first shutout of the season which is very important." The win improves the Rams to 2-3-0 on the early season and broke a two game losing streak while the loss – the second straight – dropped the Panthers to 2-2-0. James Gunn and Erik Albarran combined to find Jacob Mader for the opening goal – eventual game winner – in the 75th minute. Albarran added his second goal of the season four minutes later on an individual effort to ensure the Rams victory. For the game Ferrum outshot Bluefield College 15-10 but six saves by Jefferson Watson ensure the Rams first shutout of the season – his fourth career.
