In an unprecedented coordination between two Baptist-faithed institutions of higher learning, Bluefield College and Campbell University have decided to team up and memorialize our very own "Dean Dan" with two endowed scholarships.

Dan Bowman was a BC alumnus and former dean of students that passed away in 2014 after a heroic battle with cancer. At Bluefield College, the Daniel G. Bowman (“Dean Dan”) Memorial Scholarship will be an endowed scholarship given to an academically gifted student from Virginia who exhibits financial need. Please note that the gifts for both scholarships will be split evenly. 50% will go to BC and 50% will go to Campbell. In honoring the Bowman family’s wishes, we cannot designate one school over the other. The scholarship proceeds will memorialize Dan and benefit both institutions equally.

On September 1, 2016, Campbell University will host Bluefield in Buies Creek, North Carolina, for the unofficial “Bowman Bowl,” a football match-up of the Campbell Fighting Camels and your BC Rams. Support Dan’s memory now with a gift and come out to the game to support him in person. The Bowman family will be in attendance and both teams will honor Dan in some capacity.
