Whether it's the breathtaking views from "Virginia's Tallest Town" (3,800 feet above sea level) or the tranquil beauty of picturesque mountains and forests, you'll know there is something different about Bluefield College from the minute you arrive on campus. Bluefield College is a Christ-centered, private, liberal arts college, affiliated with the Baptist General Association of Virginia, which seeks to provide personalized opportunities for growth of mind, body, and spirit within a solid Christian context.
“Where else will my professors know my first and last name, whether I'm having a good or bad day, and how to help me best?” Lissa Aleman, Christian Studies Major
At Bluefield College, our 44 academic offerings are designed to help all students realize their greatest potential in service to God, their countries, their communities, and themselves. Furthermore, the curriculum of the college endeavors to equip its students for life by blending a strong core of liberal arts studies with career-oriented programs under the umbrella of a Biblical worldview.
Our students come from more than 35 states and six countries. In our recent freshman class, the average SAT was a 960 and the average GPA was a 3.0. Our students come from a diversity of public and private high schools. Some will tour with our Bluefield College singing groups. Others will go as far away as China and South Africa to be part of a mission impact team.
At Bluefield College, our mission is to help you find God's calling for your life. Through our weekly contemporary praise service, Elevate, campus-wide chapel services, residence hall Bible studies, and Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM), you'll grow toward becoming the man or woman that God has called you to be.
Our location in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains provides plenty of opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, rappelling, spelunking, white-water rafting, rock climbing, and hiking in the Virginia mountain countryside. Within walking distance from the college, there are two shopping plazas featuring over 25 stores, restaurants, and unique shops. Plus, there are many opportunities to take in a movie right on campus, participate in a comedy club or open mic night for music or poetry, and just hang out with new friends.
