Accounting Concentration Overview

The U.S. Department of Labor lists accounting as one of the fastest growing fields, increasing at a rate of 2% annually. Our Accounting graduates consistently find employment in business, government, non-profit organizations and CPA firms. Some students go on to earn the designation of Certified Public Accountant. Accounting is a field where well-educated people with high expectations have opportunities to express themselves, and to make meaningful contributions to the business world and to society. After taking the core and general course requirements that all Business students take, students interested in accounting take a number of classes to develop their specific technical skills in general accounting, managerial and cost accounting, auditing and taxation.
