China May Cultural Exchange Program
The China exchange program provides four Bluefield College students the unique opportunity to experience a culture, language and society that is very unique and different from our own. Through this exchange, an understanding of the commonality and familiarity of the human experience is developed, and bridges of understanding and mutual respect are built.
Students will register for and receive three credits of GBL 4503 (or corresponding course in their major) the following fall once all assignments are completed. During the exchange, students can expect to:
- Tour major points of interest in Beijing and Shanghai, including the Great Wall of China, Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City, and Summer Palace.
- Stay in Nanjing as guests of Jiangsu Second Normal University. In Nanjing, visit the Brocade Museum and the Amity Foundation where millions of Bibles are produced for Asia.
- Study modern Chinese society and Chinese history. Explore Chinese cuisine, including Peking duck, chicken feet, and Chinese dumplings.
Applications for the China Cultural Exchange in May are available outside Bluefield College’s Global Education Office, 301-C Lansdell Hall. A $200 refundable deposit must be submitted with the application. Only timely applications accepted. For more information, please contact:
