How do you add additional study to an already full load?

The answer: Bluefield College's convenient, flexible online programs, designed specifically to meet the learning needs of working adults, people with families, college-bound high school students, and others who are too busy for traditional higher education.

Register and Pay Through MyBC

MyBC is an online system available to all students. It allows you to register for online classes, check your account balance, pay your balance, view and print your current class schedule or unofficial transcript, check your grades, and more!

Registering for Classes
  1. Select the MyBC icon found at the top of the Bluefield College home page.
  2. Login by entering your student ID number and password. (Note: This is NOT your SSN or your Library card number.)
  3. Select the Student tab.
  4. Select the Courses icon.
  5. Under the Course Registration section, select the Add/Drop Courses link.

A message will indicate that students cannot add or drop courses at this time. Please do not be alarmed, as the system defaults to the traditional student calendar. Simply continue by using the dropdown menu to change the term.

Adding Courses

If you know the correct course code and section number (e.g. MAT 1213 30), you may enter each class into the Add by Course Code section. Be sure to space between the course department code (MAT) and the course number (1213). All online courses have a section number of 30 or 31. If you do not know the codes for your courses, you may click the Course Search tab to find and register for your classes. Only online courses are available for registration and these courses are designated by a white box in the Add column on the course schedule.

Once you register, for your convenience, we suggest that you follow the payment process below.

Drop a Course

How to Drop a Course
To drop a course, log in to MyBC and select the Student tab. Click Courses, then select the Add/Drop Courses link. Your current schedule will appear at the bottom of the page.

Simply click the Drop icon beside the course you want to remove. This option is available until the course registration deadline, which is one week prior to the course start date. After this date, please alert the Registrar’s Office of your intent to withdrawal from a course by e-mailing  or calling (276)326.4215.

Please note that dropping a course may affect your financial aid status. The Financial Aid Office may be contacted by calling (276)326.4215. Please see the following policies for additional information concerning adding and dropping classes.

When to Drop a Course
A student may drop a class during the first five business days of the semester and the course will not become a part of the student’s permanent academic record. After the first five business days of classes and up to the deadline to drop a class, a grade of “W” (withdrawal from the course) is issued.

The last day to drop an online class with a grade of “W” is by the end of the third week of the course. Once a student attends the first class, it is his or her responsibility to drop the course by officially notifying the Registrar’s Office. Dropping a course without official notification earns a grade of “F.”

Administrative Dropping from a Course
A student will be administratively dropped from a course if he or she does not attend the first class. This course will not become a part of the student’s permanent academic record. First class attendance for an online course is based on the student logging into the course and visiting the content area. Once a student attends the first class, it is his or her responsibility to drop the course by officially notifying the Registrar’s Office and requesting to be dropped with a grade of “W.”

Financial Policy
Payment must be made prior to the start date of the course. If payment is not received by this date, the course will be dropped from the student’s record and charges will be removed from their account.
