Barbara joined Bluefield College in September 2013 as Easley Library Director. Prior to that, she spent 36 years in public schools as a Library Media Specialist. She retired from Tazewell County Schools in June 2013. Barbara also worked two years in a public library in Ohio. She was named the 2013 Library Educator of the Year for the Clinch Region of the Virginia Association of School Librarians (VAASL) and was honored at the state meeting in November 2013.

Away from the library, Barbara and her husband enjoy spending time on their boat fishing in the spring and fall.

Werner Lind

Werner Lind was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1952, but raised in Iowa. A graduate of Clinton (IA) Community College and a summa cum laude graduate of Kansas' Bethel College (History), he also holds an M.A. in Religion from Eastern Mennonite Seminary (1981) and the M.L.S. from Indiana State University (1987). Having served as both a teacher and a librarian in Christian higher education institutions, and as a public library director, he joined the faculty at BC as a librarian in 1992. He and his wife, Barbara (married in 1980), have three daughters and four grandchildren.
