We hit the ground running!

May 22, 2010

We hit the ground running! Once we got to the hotel our hosttourguide took us on a walking tour of central Vienna. It was a whirlwind tour but it had to be we were on a timeline. We all learned how to take photos without stopping, could lead to some interesting photos. There was several highlights of the tour. FIrst main stop was St. Stephens Catherdral. This was amazing. It was the kind of place that when you walked in, your mouth drops in awe and you take a quick inward breath. We were also able to see the opera house (which Jamar LOVED) and the winter home of the Lippazoner stallions (sorry this is spelt wrong). Our next destination, dinner. We ate at an Indian restaurant. The food was good but everyone was so tired I think they were just going through the motions. We had a choice of "barbecue" or something off the menu. Most chose the barbecue. It was served with sort of orange yellow french fries, plain dry rice (it was cooked), lettuce, and a couple of slices of tomato. On top of all this was a variety of meats. A couple was good but needed A1 sauce. Some, the more you ate the worse it got. We think it was lamb and beef but are not sure. Back to the hotel and bed by 9:30 maybe 10.
